Remnant Cafe is a homeless outreach of Remnant Church. The Cafe is open four days a week in our church for those that are currently experiencing homelessness. They can receive free coffee, freshly prepared meal, hot showers, clean clothes, assistance with job searches, a mailing address, help with applications and forms, and a respite from the streets.
For those who desire, we have weekly bible study and the Remnant Cafe Worship Service each Saturday night. The Remnant Cafe was founded by our Tammy Burns, our Homeless Ministry Director, who has been involved in homeless ministry in Sarasota for 20 years and is considered a local "Mom" by those she serves. .
Our ministry is founded by Christ and focused on dignity and respect. We consider it an honor, bestowed upon us by God, to care for those others have discounted or overlooked. Since we have never met a person that Jesus didn't die for, we want to make sure everyone, particularly our homeless friends, knows the life-transforming power that comes from a relationship with Him. God is not finished writing the chapters of their lives and, in Him, the potential for life transformation is incredible. We are honored to be used by God to help others in need and pray that everyone will share that experience with us.
Remnant Cafe has many community partners who support the cafe by praying faithfully, financially giving to the ministry, serving at the cafe, or donating clothing and food. If you are interested in learning more about the cafe, reach out to Tammy at tburns@remnantsrq.com.
